A study has identified HR's top tasks for this year. HR executives from about 250 companies were surveyed for the report "2022 Key Issues: The HR Agenda" by The Hacket Group at the end of 2021

"HR managers were asked which tasks they would give priority to in 2022 on the basis of a predefined list. A good two-thirds (69 percent), and, thus, the majority, agreed with the statement that HR must fulfill its role as an important contact and value driver in the implementation of corporate strategies. HR executives view helping to shape the digital transformation as the second most important task with 67 percent of mentions. For almost two-thirds (65 percent), creating or maintaining a high-performance organizational culture plays an important role. The ability to improve talent management is important to 62 percent. Fifty-seven percent said their role is to serve as a strategic advisor to their company's business. The role of HR business partner is important to many HR leaders.

Another 55 percent agreed with the statement that it is important to recruit and retain staff in key positions and with critical skills. For just over half of respondents (53 percent), training leaders to lead effectively in a changing business environment is of great relevance. Half of the study participants (50 percent) consider maintaining employee well-being and resilience a priority. Likewise, one in two respondents values reviewing and maintaining employee engagement. In addition, keeping HR skills and talent aligned with changing business needs is on the agenda for 39 percent."*
